The GD1 was designed with the aim of providing reliable detection in the most restrictive environments such as offshore platforms or water treatment sites.
The heart of the detector is a tunable laser diode which makes the GD1 is insensitive to disturbances: sun, rain, and fog. The laser uses a specific absorption line which eliminates any interference from other compounds. Unlike other H2 S detection principles (semiconductor or electrochemical cell), the GD1 does not need any recalibration and can replace a large number of point sensors.
