Earthquake early warning systems rely on reliable seismic sensors that are able to detect seismic waves and then automatically trigger a warning signal after a rapid assessment of the situation. This allows people living in the risk area to have precious seconds to take safety measures and seek shelter.

The seismic sensors are connected directly to an electronic siren which is triggered automatically in the event of dangerous shocks. The system is automated and autonomous, which allows it to operate even in the event of a power outage, which can be caused by earthquakes.

Large installations feature Vektra® software applications such as SCADA, alerts and warnings. If dangerous shocks are detected by Vektra SCADA, all sirens are automatically triggered using the Vektra®® alert. At the same time, competent people are informed of the danger by voice message or SMS using the Vektra® warning.
