IP protection ratings

What are IP protection ratings?

In industrial construction, a significant number of electrical installations require a high level of protection against the ingress of the equipment chosen for the operation and integrity of the installed device.

The IP degree of protection is indicated using two numbers defined by the outer shell of a device. The first number represents the protection against the ingress of solid objects.
The second number is the protection against the ingress of water or liquid. Electrical equipment for explosive atmospheres generally provides protection ratings much higher than the industry standard. Most of our products are rated IP65/IP66, or even IP67, and can therefore be used in the harshest environments.
