The SRPP, Société Réunionnaise de Produits Pétroliers, founded in 1940, operates in the storage and distribution of petroleum products on Réunion Island. Its installations are located in the commune of Port (97420), around the old Lighthouse of Pointe des Galets. It has an oil depot with a storage capacity of 250,000 m3 for fuels and 13,000 m3 for Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG).
Challenge? Adapted and efficient ATEX lighting
A2S has been requested by SRPP to replace and optimize the lighting of their installations, including their filling centre. It goes without saying that given the high-risk environment, petroleum products, the challenge was both to offer more ultra-performing lighting and optimal safety in the ATEX zone.
The customer's wish was to replace fluorescent lighting and mixed projectors with ATEX LED lighting. The constraint was to provide overall coverage with an average level of light of 450 to 500 lux on the entire site, while at the same time differentiating work areas from roadways in order to maximize the comfort and safety of workers.
Our millimetre approach
A2S therefore studied precisely the different areas to be illuminated by detailing on plans the installation of lighting (Lluminance 3D) to be put in place according to the risks of the area and the needs of lighting: lighting of production areas, alleys, access routes. The software allows you to consider lighting angles, lighting distance, color, shadows.
Our ATEX lighting solution
Thanks to this design study, the IES photometric files allowing visualization of the lighting curves and 3D visualization we made a meticulous selection of the luminaires to be installed. The choice was based on the SPARTAN HPFL high-power projector range and the WL168 series linear luminaires.
