A2S, now referenced by Total, has just won in Angola a first contract of preparation instrumentation for the offshore platform "Girassol" of the oil group. In addition to the quality of its products and commercial responsiveness, the latter particularly appreciated the desire of A2S to develop a local presence. This will is realized in two ways. In part for the maintenance of its electrical safety equipment, A2S is now working with a Luandese installer, the company ISEG. This company manages an annual contract for the "fire detection" maintenance of the TOTAL Luanda towers. On the other hand, A2S now has a local representative in Luanda, i.e. INDUSCOM, an Angolan distributor importer that is developing its business in the mining and petrochemical sectors. INDUSCOM will be supported by an A2S sales manager dedicated to the Angolan market in the coming months.
Angola, the second largest oil producer on the African continent, whose growth has averaged 10% over the last decade, has very large oil deposits, mainly offshore. In addition, since 2013, the country has started exporting liquefied natural gas. While oil remains Angola's economic lung, the government now wants to invest in infrastructure of all kinds where the needs are enormous. As many development opportunities as A2S intends to seize, hence the need for a significant and sustainable local settlement.
In this context, A2S was present at the international trade fair FILDA – Feira Internacional de Luanda – held last July in Luanda, the capital of Angola. Many visitors have marked their interest in A2S products and services. In addition to those in the oil and gas sector, agri-food professionals were also very interested. Several plant construction projects are under consideration. This could lead to new opportunities for A2S, including the provision of ATEX products.
